After seeing the original Cube movie, I was rather intrigued by the prospect of a sequel. You wouldn't miss much if you did, but you won't appreciate & enjoy it nearly as much. It shows what Cube would have been if it had had a bigger budget, but it also showed what it didn't want to become. The sequel to the low budget first film ‘Cube.’ This time the prisoners find them selves in a more advanced cube environment that they must escape from before they are killed. 7 out of 11 found this helpful. Yes, the characters are rather stereotypical, and basically imported directly from Cube 1, but there is enough mystery about some of them to make you wonder about their real motives and/or origins.
I think that's just because you failed. It says a lot that the original director of "Cube" was not involved in this project - instead we have Andrzej Sekula, apparently also a newcomer. It's frustrating because it has so many elements that are available to build something brilliant with ... and it just lets them go. My name is Moritz Eggert (no need for a pseudonym here), and I live in Munich, Germany, home of the original Fantasy Film Fest. If you like it, watch Cube Zero afterwards.
A science fiction film where space and time have more than one path. "Cube 2: Hypercube" is a weak and confusing entry after such a great original. 16 out of 27 found this helpful. 50 out of 72 found this helpful. 98 out of 129 found this helpful.

The original writer did NOT want to ever say where the mysterious Cube ever came from. And throws at the seven new characters. A science fiction film where space and time have more than one path. bet you're too stupid to get it, IDIOT!! I am a big fan of the first Cube movie and have seen it at least 15 times. "i told you not to watch the sequel!" Just a few minutes ago I and some 200 fellow geeks were the very first people seeing an official copy of "Hypercube", the sequel to "Cube", one of my most loved films (the date of today's premiere was 7/31/0:30 a.m.).
♂️ I am going to cease this conversation for I do not converse with simple minded persons.Late last year I watched Cube, and despite everything enjoyed it quite a fair bit. An amalgamation of conflicting ideas that elicits boredom rather than curiosity.since it's pride month I've decided every character is either gay or bi"CUBED" means you got locked in a box, as in the shape of the box is a “cube” which you are trapped in! some are bad, some are great, but…Does it take you an hour to pick a movie? The first one was called Cube and was set in a Cube, this one is called Hypercube and is set in a Hypercube. Its like watching a child playing with a puzzle that is 2 year levels below its capabilities, and going "Come on, that piece goes there...yeeees, no! Well worth a read.…the must see Slasher films or films with slasher elements from the year 2000-2020 not in any particular order! The dialogue is annoying, the (over)acting horrific, the F/X are not nearly as charming as in the original, the characters are undeveloped, and the ending is a complete cop out.
HyperCube equals Hyper-Bore! Well, this one at least isn’t good. My cube is bad? It just feels like a made-for-TV, straight to the DVD bargain bin rehash of the first film. There came to be Hypercube. It was a complete waste for this film to even have been made. The characters are just so much fodder for the cube's booby traps.
Boring bright light. But then one wonders how there can be a sequel to a movie that was basically all filmed in one 14x14x14 set? 32 out of 44 found this helpful. Fans of the first one absolutely should see this movie, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the new things Hypercube throws at you. At least that was what we were told by the organizers - apparently the copy was flewn over from Toronto fresh from the printers (and there were 2 failed attempts to do so - it seems the film was not ready the first time, the second time they sent the wrong film - this is why the originally announced premiere 4 days ago didn't happen).
