Great for convicincing significant other of the merits of bluewater sailing - I'm the one in a thousand women trying to convince a husband to sail around the world with me and he wants facts - this book had plenty. It is written for coastal and limited offshore cruisers who want to make the transition to long-term voyaging. I reserve that for the very best.
This may be a nit-picky gripe but I believe there are lots of right ways and I will learn more about learning from others mistakes, what they did wrong, why they did that, and why they won't do it again.

Beth's book answered hundreds of questions I had about long voyages. Interspersed with these data driven sections are numerous vignettes and personal accounts from Leonard's 3 year circumnavigation.
The appearance of such a new voice is something of an event, and thats what wed call the publication of This inspirational and comprehensive manual leads you step by step through every aspect of choosing, planning, and following the voyagers life. Honest good advice, one of the best books for sailing in my view.
Logbook for Cruising Under Sail (Logbooks)
The book just did not inspire me to make changes to my boat or my philosophy of sailing. Yes- bearly. So I started reading from page one again. Variation an der Kasse je nach Lieferadresse.
