Boxes of vacuum-packed food and long-life milk seemingly arrive out of nowhere, swiftly followed by a new born baby which soon grows into a creepy, screaming, voice-imitating 10-year-old.It’s an innovative, if somewhat overly equivocal vision that feels like it’s digging deep (in Tom’s case, quite literally) while simultaneously lacking any resonating feeling of profundity. Turns out, they don't. I like a film that makes me uncomfortable!Fuck yeah. And that little kid is a real fuckin' creep. While Vivarium does lose a tone of momentum when it hits the mid-way point, by the time it reaches its end, I can't shake the distinct feeling of unease I had to endure for over eighty minutes, and I can't deny that a film like this was an experience I have quite been exposed to before. Vivarium releases in the U.S. in theaters and on-demand on March 27, 2020. Also, I was a bit frustrated with the ending of the film. Vivarium is now available on Digital and VOD. Poor plot, scenario is unexplored. Seen it a couple of times now and lean toward the Hell/Purgatory/Demon theory myself. To each their own!
