I'm doing a bit of family research and am trying to find out about the Imperial Hotel, I've searched on here and cant find it so assume it is now called something else - or has been turned into something else. On top of that it often has bar promotions ie a pint of guiness just now is £1.50 which is excellent for hotel bar prices which are usually a rip off.On the off chance its fully booked etc also try the Premier Lodge at East North Street ( not 5 star but in city centre and clean and a newish hotel so modern fittings), Highland Hotel in Crown Street ( which is excellent for a slap up meal in a cosy atmosphere) but avoid the travelodge on Union Street @ Bridge Street as its always noisy, bar poorly stocked and breakfast v poor.Depending whats on in town it can often be hard to get a hotel so try to book well in advance and if your wanting to know if its a good hotel or not post the details on here and be happy to let you know what I think.Isn't the internet a great tool!!

I remember it had "continental quilts" put in the bedrooms as part of the new look for the place and they were all the rage then !Am planning a return early in 2007 to "rediscover my past" but The Holiday Inn Express gets good reports and a room is max £70.

After the removal of the old lift, inspection revealed archaeological deposits in situ.
