Delivery stations “help speed up deliveries for customers” and “offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own business delivering Amazon packages,” according to the source.The new facility will be a joint project between New York’s RXR Realty firm and Los Angeles’ LBA Realty.Maspeth is a logistically advantageous location for Amazon, as its central location allows for easy trips to Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn in addition to Queens.The report also said that Amazon is looking to gobble up a 620,000-square-foot warehouse and office space in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, but has not yet signed a lease.Amazon opened its first major warehouse in New York state in late 2017, a facility on the west shore of Staten Island that spans nearly 1 million square feet.“We are excited to increase our investment in the New York City area with a new delivery station that will provide fast and efficient deliveries and create hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce,” an Amazon spokesperson said Tuesday.
