We learn about ourselves, our strengths and our weaknesses, and the strengths of our colleagues, so we know how to help one another efficiently.We also use that time to schedule presentations and trainings from many campus organizations, such as the Aurora Center, the Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life, and the Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence. Although I was ecstatic that I had finally left high school, being in a new city and a new state by myself was an intimidating idea.The couple days I was on campus that summer seem like a blur of half-hearted ice breakers and uncomfortable conversations now that I’m ending my second year at the U.
