Overall, an enjoyable read.Really enjoyed this second novel in "The Testing " series - the first one had a very Hunger Games feel to it, in Independent Study the action moves from one kind of test to another - the university hopefuls may have passed the first hurdle but it has come at a huge cost that they cannot even remember.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great book.I wasn’t sure what I was expecting when starting this book, but was extremely pleased. Our heroine Cia continues to dazzle all with her smarts and her intuition, which saves her and her teammates time and again. Cia is selected to lead a team, after solving her first challenge there. I've seen the comparisons between this book and [with something north of 70 young people vanishing every year, even if all University Grads are sent to "different colonies" than the one from which they originated I'd think eventually the colonies at large might "smell a rat". I just felt that the plot was not as engaging and interesting. Testing Treatments urges everyone to get involved in improving current research and future treatment, and outlines practical steps that patients and doctors can take together. I was kind of unsatisfied with it.
I think I've read too much young adult post-apocalyptic fiction to be wowed by anything now.
