When you consider new god rays and particle effects, combined with volumetric fog and how those features interract, it explains why there might be a massive performance difference with both enabled. My problem is that the campaign map runs with sometimes 20 fps (near some elven tower around the HE starting city). I can run a battle at max settings at 30-45 FPS (exept for massive battles), but when I am on the campaign map I get 10 FPS or less , no matter the graphic quality. The battles are running around 60 fps, huge unit size, and it is beautiful even on medium. With TW:WH1, I never had a problem like this.
